Cloud KMS

Cloud Key Management Service

Definition

A Cloud KMS is a managed service for creating, storing, and controlling access to cryptographic keys used to encrypt data across cloud services. AWS KMS, Azure Key Vault, and GCP Cloud KMS integrate with storage, database, and compute services to provide encryption at rest without requiring applications to manage keys directly.

Cloud KMS supports automatic key rotation, granular IAM-based access control, and audit logging of all key usage.
