Secure Enclaves
Secure Enclaves
Definition
Secure enclaves are isolated execution environments within a CPU that protect code and data from inspection or modification by privileged software including the operating system, hypervisor, and cloud provider. Intel SGX, AWS Nitro Enclaves, and Apple Secure Enclave are implementations of this concept.
Enclaves are used for sensitive operations like cryptographic key management, biometric processing, and AI model protection where data confidentiality during computation is required.
