Service Quota
Cloud Service Quota
Definition
Cloud service quotas (also called service limits) are the maximum number of resources or operations allowed per account or region — such as the number of EC2 instances, VPCs, Lambda concurrent executions, or API request rates. Quotas prevent runaway costs and protect shared infrastructure.
Engineering teams must monitor quota utilization and proactively request increases before they constrain growth.
