Definition

Change failure rate is the percentage of deployments that result in a service degradation, outage, or require a rollback. It is one of the four DORA metrics used to measure DevOps performance.

Elite teams maintain change failure rates below 5%, achieved through automated testing, canary deployments, and progressive delivery practices.
